ENSOC was initially formed as a way for engineering students to network, share ideas and discuss academic and industry related issues. Throughout our history, the relationship between ENSOC and the engineering industry has evolved drastically – and is currently the strongest it has ever been.
For over 10 years, ENSOC has hosted the annual E3 Engineering Expo – giving professional companies the chance to advertise their values, network with students, and offer both graduate and summer employment right in the heart of the College of Engineering.
With the help of specialist speakers, ENSOC helps its members to learn professional skills by organising a range of development seminars—including CV and interview training, expo preparation, first aid, driver training and much more. ENSOC has also organised site tours to various businesses in different facets of the engineering industry.
All University of Canterbury students undertaking a Bachelor of Engineering degree are eligible to apply for IPENZ Student Membership. To join, visit
